Grooming Report for 1-8-16

Sorry for the gap since the last grooming report. This week’s storms on Cedar Mountain have dropped 2-3 feet of powder on the mountain and made conditions such that we haven’t seen for a couple of years. There is very deep powder over much of the mountain, which has made grooming somewhat slow and difficult. But we were able to groom the Cedar Breaks/High Mountain trail on Wednesday the 6th in between storms, so it probably got covered by the second storm, which dropped most of the powder. On Thursday the 7th, we groomed from Midway to Sage Valley and only as far as Deer Valley, but on Friday the 8th we groomed the Navajo Lake trail and the Duck Creek Ridge trail as far as the timber sale area and back to Midway. We won’t be able to get back up and do Lava Beds until Monday the 11th, so be safe up there. Be very careful of the deep powder and be sure to travel with enough people to help get unstuck if you get into a drift. For information or questions, contact Michael Franklin or Dean Anderson at Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park – 435-648-2800 or
