Mount Nebo Update 12-19-16
Mount Nebo is finally starting to cool off. It has gone from 40 and 50 degree temperatures of last week, to the much needed subo zero freezing temps to sustain a snow pack this week.
Last week we finally received some new snow on Friday. It rained for the most part at the lower trailhead locations, which translated into about 2" of snow down lower. About 5 miles up the trailhead on the Mount Nebo loop from Nephi and Payson there is significant new snow, with about 2 feet of the new white stuff up on top. We are looking at about 4 feet of snow at the very top.
Getting up top on a snowmobile is definately doable now. We are still looking to get about 4" of new snow down lower before we fell comfortable to start grooming. There is a possibily of a storm coming through Christmas weekend.
If you go up, be registered, wear a helmet, take your safety equipment and ride with a buddy:-)
