Grooming Report for March 13, 2017

March 13, 2017
It looks like our grooming season on Cedar Mountain is about ended. With the nice weather, we are getting very busy at Coral Pink Sand Dunes and will be unable to spend time grooming on the mountain. There has been no new snow lately, so the trails are still well packed and in pretty good shape. Thanks for your support and participation this year and we’ll hope to see you again next year on Cedar Mountain. For information or questions, contact us at Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park – 435-648-2800 or coralpink@utah.gov

Grooming Report for March 6, 2017

March 6, 2017
We got the cat fixed and were able to groom Cedar Breaks/High Mountain on Friday the 3rd. The schedule for this week is as follows:
Monday the 6th – Cedar Breaks/High Mountain. Tuesday the 7th – Deer Hollow (Please note: the Deer Hollow Ski area is groomed using grant funds obtained by the Cedar Mountain Nordic Ski Club.). Wednesday the 8th – Lava Beds. Thursday the 9th – Navajo Lake/Duck Creek Ridge. Friday the 10th – Cedar Breaks/High Mountain.
The season is winding down, but conditions are still good on the mountain with 4 feet of snow at the Sage Valley turnoff. The warmer weather during the days is icing things up a bit, so be careful. . For information or questions, contact us at Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park – 435-648-2800 or coralpink@utah.gov

Grooming Update for March 2, 2017

Grooming Update for March 2, 2017
We were able to groom Navajo Lake/Duck Creek Ridge on Wednesday the 1st, but when we got back we found a hydraulic leak in one of the hoses, so until we can get a replacement, the snowcat is down. We are told that the replacement hoses should be in on Friday midday. If that is indeed the case, we’ll try and get them installed and go groom Cedar Breaks/High Mountain on Friday night. Keep your fingers crossed. For information or questions, contact us at Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park – 435-648-2800 or coralpink@utah.gov

Grooming Report for February 28, 2017

February 28, 2017
This week’s grooming schedule for Cedar Mountain is as follows:
Wednesday, March 1st – Navajo Lake/Duck Creek Ridge
Thursday, March 2nd – Deer Hollow/Lava Beds (Please note: the Deer Hollow Ski area is groomed using grant funds obtained by the Cedar Mountain Nordic Ski Club.)
Friday, March 3rd – Cedar Breaks/High Mountain.
The grooming season is winding down, even though there is still good snow on the mountain. We usually close down sometime near the middle of March, so we’ll see how it goes this year. For information or questions, contact us at Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park – 435-648-2800 or coralpink@utah.gov

Grooming Report for February 15, 2017

February 15, 2017
Here is this week’s grooming schedule: We groomed Lava Beds and Cedar Breaks on Tuesday the 14th. We only did Cedar Breaks as far as Brian Head, because it looked like the groomers over there had done the trail recently – thanks Brian Head! We plan to groom Deer Hollow Ski area on the morning of Thursday the 16th and Navajo Lake and Duck Creek Ridge on the evening of Thursday the 16th. (Please note: the Deer Hollow Ski area is groomed using grant funds obtained by the Cedar Mountain Nordic Ski Club.) We’ll get Cedar Breaks/High Mountain again on Friday the 17 in preparation for the Poker Run scheduled for Saturday.  They are forecasting snow for the weekend, but we can hope it is good for the Poker Run. Be careful and have fun on the mountain. For information or questions, contact us at Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park – 435-648-2800 or coralpink@utah.gov

Grooming Report for February 10, 2017

February 10, 2017
We had a short week of grooming this week due to our training sessions that called us away. But we were able to groom Navajo Lake and Deer Hollow on Thursday the 9th. (Please note: the Deer Hollow Ski area is groomed using grant funds obtained by the Cedar Mountain Nordic Ski Club.) We had planned on grooming Cedar Breaks/High Mountain on Friday night, but a storm is coming through then and it wouldn’t be of much use to groom in the middle of a blizzard. So we’ll wait and do Cedar Breaks/High Mountain on Sunday the 12th or Monday the 13th. We plan to do Lava Beds on Tuesday the 14th and Navajo Lake/Duck Creek Ridge on Wednesday the 15th. For information or questions, contact us at Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park – 435-648-2800 or coralpink@utah.gov

Grooming Report for February 5, 2017

February 5, 2017
Grooming runs went as planned last week and all of the trails were finally groomed after the big storm and mechanical issues. For this coming week, we have 3 days of meetings on Mon – Wed, so we won’t be grooming again until Thursday. We’ll probably do Navajo Lake/Duck Creek Ridge on Thursday the 9th and Cedar Breaks/High Mountain on Friday the 10th. For information or questions, contact us at Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park – 435-648-2800 or coralpink@utah.gov

Grooming Report for January 28, 2017

January 28, 2017
Well, we were able to get up on the mountain on Thursday the 26th and groom Deer Hollow and Lava Beds, but then there was some bad news. We blew a hydraulic hose on the snowcat and were unable to find the parts needed on Friday. So until we can get a new hose made/shipped/imported from Italy, we won’t be able to groom any trails. Sorry about that. We’ll get it done as soon as we can, and in the meantime, we'll keep you updated on the repair efforts and new schedule when we know something. For information or questions, contact us at Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park – 435-648-2800 or coralpink@utah.gov
