Grooming Report for 2-25-16

With the warm weather and deteriorating snow conditions on Cedar Mountain, this week we will only groom the Cedar Breaks/High Mountain trail on Friday the 26th. There isn’t any snow in the forecast that we can see, so we may be approaching the end of the grooming season this year. It’s been a better year for snow than the last couple of years. For information or questions, contact Michael Franklin or Dean Anderson at Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park – 435-648-2800 or coralpink@utah.gov.

Grooming Report for 2/18/16

We were able to groom Deer Valley/Lava Beds on Wednesday the 17th, but with the high winds and bad weather today, we have chosen not to groom Cedar Breaks or Navajo Lake this week. We’ll try and catch them back up again next week. For information or questions, contact Michael Franklin or Dean Anderson at Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park – 435-648-2800 or coralpink@utah.gov.

Grooming Report for 2/14/16

We were able to groom the trails this week as previously scheduled. With no new snow and the warmer weather, the snow is getting softer and more compact and harder to make a good trail, so watch out for the bumps and ruts that are forming.
This week we have some scheduling conflicts, but we plan to groom Lava Beds and Deer Valley on Wednesday the 17th and Cedar Breaks/High Mountain on Thursday the 18th. We may not get to Navajo Lake, but with no new snow, the trail should stay in pretty good shape. For information or questions, contact Michael Franklin or Dean Anderson at Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park – 435-648-2800 or coralpink@utah.gov.

Grooming Report for 2/6/16

We were able to groom Lava Beds on Thursday the 4th and Cedar Breaks/High Mountain on Friday the 5th as planned. We will plan on grooming Navajo Lake and Duck Creek Ridge trails on Saturday the 6th. Next week will be a similar schedule with Lava Beds and Deer Valley on Thursday the 11th and Cedar Breaks/High Mountain on Friday the 12th. There is almost 4 feet of snow at our measuring stick at the Sage Valley turnoff, so there is plenty of snow this year – remember to be careful and have fun! For information or questions, contact Michael Franklin or Dean Anderson at Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park – 435-648-2800 or coralpink@utah.gov.

Grooming Report for 1/25/16

We were able to groom Navajo Lake/Duck Creek Ridge and Cedar Breaks/High Mountain last week as anticipated. Our co-groomers in the Duck Creek area also got all the trails groomed in their area – Tippets, Lars, Willis Creek, Strawberry Ridge and Point, and the campground.
This week, we plan to groom Navajo/Duck Creek Ridge on Tuesday the 26th, Lava Beds/Deer Valley on Wednesday the 27th, and Cedar Breaks/High Mountain on Thursday the 28th. Please note that the Deer Valley area is for non-motorized use only and the grooming schedule for that portion is posted for the skiers and snowshoe enthusiasts out there.
The snow conditions with the slightly warmer weather have changed a bit. The snow is more compact and wet in places and during the warm part of the day, so be aware of the changed conditions and ride accordingly. For information or questions, contact Michael Franklin or Dean Anderson at Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park – 435-648-2800 or coralpink@utah.gov.
