Groomed Dec 30 2013

Contributed by: Dale Bartholomew It's that time of year to start grooming; however the snow conditions are not very good. We did take the groomer up Monday December 30 and made a run to take out some of the woops. The snow is not very deep even up on top but there is still some good riding to be had. This trail is experiencing heavier than usual use. Be cautious and watch for rocks and fallen trees. We had a great team of volunteers go up and clean the trail of fallen trees and there were several very large ones across the trail. They did an excellent job. and they all worked hard to give you a good riding area. I hope you enjoy your time in the back country. If you should still find yourself venturing out, please, please be careful and wear all your protective gear. That includes a beacon. If you have any questions for us, feel free to drop us a line.

It's that time of year when the snow conditions are such that we just can't groom any more.  I was hoping that we would be able to stretch it a bit longer, but there just isn't enough on the lower areas to get us up to the high areas.  So, I regret to say we are now finished for the season.

We had a great grooming team this year with some good volunteers, and they all worked hard to give you a good riding area.  I hope you enjoyed your time in the back country.

Chalk Creek to Whitney Guard Station was groomed Friday March 8. Snow conditions are poor from the gas plant to the top of the dug way. From this point to the Guard Station there is some powder. Be cautious, rocks and brush are still a hazard. With the warm weather and melting snow this may be the last grooming run for this season.
