Tonight we groomed the Bug Lake Loop. Trail conditions are still poor for the first mile with bare spots. Lower elevations (Danish Dugway and beyond) there was 4" of new snow, and in the higher areas there is 12". It was still snowing and blowing while we were out on the trail. Be sure to check avalanche conditions for going out. Stay safe and have fun.

 Where's the snow?

The storm this week only put down 2 or 3 inches(bad news). Tonight I groomed the Hell's Hollow Loop. Trail conditions are pretty good once you get past the first few miles. I had a report today that the Bug Lake trail had drifted in a few places so if your riding that area tomorrow be aware. Snotel shows 43 inches at bug Lake. pull some strings and get us some more SNOW! Happy trails......

This week I groomed the Hell's Hollow loop on Monday, Tuesday a packing run through Bug Lake was completed and the run to Cottonwood (Round Valley) I missed due to rain all day Thursday. Tonight I groomed the Bug Lake Loop. This is a new trail from Johnson Ranch, Bug Lake, Rock Creek, Red Spur and back to Hardware. Trail conditions are icy for the first 3 miles north of Hardware, but the snow is great in the higher elevations.

FINALLY,

Tonight the Hell's Hollow loop was groomed. The snow at the trail head is a little thin but conditions get better 4-5 miles out. I noticed some tracks off trail in Strawberry Valley (including mine) so be careful of trail. There are some snow poles that have been knocked down since this fall, I will get them back up next run.The snow was over the tracks in Mill Hollow and Hell's Hollow, with a few thin spots through the Gorge and in Strawberry. Tomorrow a run through Bug Lake to Red Spur is planned, with the rest of the complex done by Saturday.

Hi everyone!  The snow is not here like we had hoped.  The trails do not have enough snow to groom.  The bug lake snotel site shows 25 inches.   Were hoping for snow from this weekends snow storms.  Keep checking back for updated reports.

Hardware Ranch Grooming Report for 12/21/2011

We asked Hyrum State Park if we could borrow their snowcat to groom Beaver Creek, and Swan Flat this week. They don't have enough snow to go out on the Hardware side yet, and our snowcat is still in the shop getting worked on. the shop keep finding other problems to fix.

We have groomed Beaver Creek, Swan Flat and the Sinks area today, but the snow is still very marginal for us to do much other then just packing the snow down. We will do a few more runs next week if we get more snow. The snow storm that hit today is not putting down much snow in the lower elevations.

We are risking tearing the cat up for a few snowmobilers, so if we break it, the Hardware Ranch area will not get groomed until later. Wish us luck!
