Groomiong

As of February 28 the snow condition Improved over this past week we had a few small storms pass by leaving about one to one and a half feet on top. There has been some wind with some new drifts.  On top there is five feet of snow with about one foot at the trailheads.  The trails are in Fair shape.  This week we are a little off track with our grooming schedule. We will be grooming: Tuesday Soapstone to Lake Creek summit down to Nobblets, we are not sure if our Wednesday run will be accomplished this week, so if possible, Wednesday Wolf Creek and Cold Springs loop, Thursday Mirror lake, and Friday and Saturday Soapstone to Lake creek and Nobblets. Watch out for danger while riding. With the new snow the Avalanche danger is still moderate to High. Make sure you are wearing a beacon. Ride safe and enjoy the snow.

You can find a copy of our grooming schedule on this website http://www.snowut.com/mirrorlkmillh.htm that you can print out. Remember that all our runs are done at night but we may be on the trail at anytime so ride under control at all times.

Remember to go out prepared including survival and avalanche gear. Check on the avalancheconditions at www.avalanche.org/~uac/.  Ride safe and we will see you on the trails!!!

Snowmobiling conditions have improved greatly with the new snow that fell over the last week. We continue to groom and the trails are in excellent condition. We remain on schedule which you can find on this website. Remember to check the avalanche conditions before heading out. There are still hidden obstacles under the snow so please be careful. Be safe.

Grooming Report for 1/27/12

We received about 4" of new snow last night. That brings our depth to about 4' in the higher elevations and 2' at the trailheads. Use caution as objects are still lurking under the snow just waiting to take out your $300 trailing arm. We are on schedule for grooming and snow conditions are good. Remember avalanche conditions remain high so be careful. Please print out our grooming schedule as we follow that unless we have a break down or severe weather.

1/17/2012

As of 1/17 the snow conditions are still poor in the area. We have not started grooming due to lack of snow. There is good access to the snow we do have from the Soapstone trail head for the Mirror lake and Soapstone areas. Acess to Mill Hollow is still good from Hwy 35 the road is still open over the top to Hanna. We hope the snow comes this week.

Grooming Report for 11/22/2011

As of November 22, 2011 the following conditions can be found on the Mirror Lake/ Mill Hollow Grooming Complex. We have not started grooming yet as there is only a few inches on the ground at the lower elevations. We typically do not start until Mid-December. If you are eager to ride I would recommend staying on the roads as off-trail riding could be hazardous. Good trail riding can be found on the Mirror Lake Hwy as well as Mill Hollow. Even though there is not a lot of snow yet, the avalanche danger is high due to weak snow near the ground. Please be careful. We are getting a new snowcat this year to continue providing great trails. Once we start grooming, we will update this message.
