There was approximately 4-8 inches of new snow at Strawberry at highway 40 elevation.  Approximately a foot of new snow at the higher elevations.  Some areas received more, other areas less.  New storm is predicted for Monday with estimated snow accumulation any where from 2-8 inches.  The lack of snow at the lower elevations and the lack of any substantial accumulation at the higher elevations is hindering our ability to start grooming without putting the groomer at risk of damage.  However, depending on what we get out of the next storm I will try and get the groomer to the higher elevations at least at Clyde Creek/Mudd Creek and possibly CO-OP Creek to Tower Mountain.  This is will depend greatly on the next storm and what it produces.  Any grooming will be posted.  The following pictures were taken on the Strawberry Marina road today.  No safe open riding at the trailhead elevations.  However, the avalanche danger is high so please go to the avalanche forecast link before going out.  Also, our plow truck is currently not operating.  We our hoping to have that fixed tomorrow.  Trail heads have been plowed but heavy wind drifts last night brought some snow into the trail heads that we were not able to clean up.

We did receive approximately 2-4 inches of new snow at Strawberry yesterday.  That gives us approximately 2-4 inch total at Highway 40.  Not enough snow to start grooming as of yet.  We will be watching the next series of storms scheduled to come throughout this week.  We will be looking for approximately two feet of snow before we can start grooming.

Grooming Report for 12/2/2011

There is only a few inches of snow right know at the base of Strawberry. We need at least 18" of snow to begin grooming. We are hoping to begin grooming on December 15th, but that depends on the snow.

We will begin plowing the parking lots at Strawberry River, Clyde Creek, CO-OP Creek, Chicken Creek East and the Ladders shortly and as needed.
