Grooming

We received a bunch of rain on Thursday which made conditions at all of the trailheads very poor.  The snow pack was diminished do this.  We will not be grooming at Pine Hollow, Tibble Fork, Silver Lake, Soldier Hollow until we receive some new accumulation of snow.  There is not enough snow, and quite a few rocks at these trailheads.  We will continue to groom Snake Creek, to the narrows in AF canyon, and across Cummings Parkway since there is enough snow in those areas.  Bottom line, we need snow.

Grooming Report 1/21/13

Went out grooming tonight from Soldier Hollow out threw Cummings Parkway and Down Snake Creek.

The Snow was good on top. But the snow at Cascade Springs is getting a little thin on the groomed trail. Please watch for rocks. Other than that the trail looks good. we are trying to get all the whoops out of the trail to make it a more comfortable ride. Please bear with us, and pray for more snow.

Thanks

Grooming Report 1/02/2013

Pine Canyon was groomed yesterday for the first time.  Conditions were minimal down at the trailhead, but good the further I went up.  The snow cat went out last night and made it up Snake Creek to Pole Line Pass when it experienced problems.  We were able to get the cat running, however, had to abort our run down AF canyon and get it back to the shop where it will be looked at today by our mechanics.  Hopefully we will be back up and running by either tonight or Friday.  No new snow to report on our complex.

Grooming Report 12/29/12

Wasatch Mtn has started grooming on Wednesday December 26th.  Everything is open except for Silver Lake which will be opened up tonight.  Last night the following trails were groomed; Snake Creek, Cummmings Parkway, Alpine loop to Aspen Grove and Pine Hollow.  Soldier Hollow is not opened up yet due to lack of snow.  There are great snow depths up high with plenty of powder.  The snow cat will be down on Tuesdays and Thursdays unless conditions warrant us going out.  All trailheads are open with enough snow to ride from.

Wasatch Mtn State Park Conditions

The snow Gods were favorable to us this week.  Although we don't have enough snow to begin our grooming program yet, the snow levels are on the rise.  Mill Flat as of today has about 14" at the trialhead.  Pine canyon and Cascade Springs trailheads have 4-6".  Snowmobilers up top have reported about 3' of snow.  Although you would like us to get out and groom, protecting the investment of the snowcat is a priority early in the season.  We need atleast 18" of snow to groom so we don't break the equipment that your registrations help pay for.  Getting from our shed to where there is enough snow about 3 miles up is the problem.  We would rather be safe than sorry when the storms start dumping.  You can still come up and play.  See you on the trail.

Grooming report 2/29/2012

Our snow cat broke down and is out of commission for the remainder of the season. We are borrowing a cat on March 1st and will have it for four days. During that time frame we will groom everything that we can to make sure it is good for the following week. If needs be, we will then get the cat back on the 12th if we have enough snow to groom down low that is. We have received a couple good storms the last few days and it continues to snow good right now with about 5 new inches as of this morning. We appologize for the inconvenience and we are doing all we can to get things up and running.
