The latest storm brought deep snow to the higher elevations however it was the first snow of the year for the parking lots and lower trail.

We drove a snowmobile up from the Archery Range in Snake Creek and felt hundreds of rocks under the track.

We also found similar conditions on the Pine Canyon trail as the snowmobiles were spinning down to the asphalt and the skis were leaving marks on the roadway.

The snowcat simply cannot operate on soft new snow like that.

We anticipate being able to groom after the next substantial storm.

The time has come to conclude snow grooming operations for the 2022-2023 season. Though deep snow levels exist in the higher elevation, lower melting depth levels and quality of slushy snow with warmer spring like temperatures are causing us to suspend operations!!

On 04/06 we did groom a final run along Snake Creek to across Cummings Parkway then over to Aspen Grove and Mutual Dell! Snow is still deep however super slushy for a few inches throughout the day.

On 04/07 we did groom to Tibble Fork and Silver Lake. Trail groomed well though slushy at times with warmer temperatures.

Stay Safe and watch avalanche forecasts with warming temperatures!!
