Skyline Drive

REPORT FOR MARCH 16, 2023

BY: STATE PARLS

Skyline Drive and Tucker Trail were groomed on 3/16/23. There are approximately two feet of new heavy wet snow. There is a lot of moisture in this new snow. This is likely the last grooming run for this season.

GROOMING SCHEDULE

North Skyline Drive to Tucker or Starvation Canyon via Bear Ridge - Tuesdays

(please note that Bear Ridge has not been groomed yet this season. We are working to clear large trees and snow drifts to access the trail. It is possible that this trail may be impossible to groom with the amount of snow that has fallen)

White River Trail - Wednesdays

Millers Flat Trail to Middle mountain - Will not be groomed for the 2023 season due to logging in the forest.

Skyline Drive and Tucker Trail were groomed on 3/8/23. There is approximately a foot or two of new heavy wet snow. Some fence posts are barely covered up and others are just poking out of the snow. Use caution towards the bottom of Tucker Trail, there is a year old cow moose in the area. She stays very close to the trail and doesn't like to move off the trail when approached by machinery. She has tucked her ears back and came after the groomer a couple times in the past few weeks.

North Skyline Drive and Tucker Trail were groomed on 2/13/23. There has been no new snow since the last grooming of these areas. Trail snow is hard and crusty which leaves a less than desirable groomed trail. Continue to watch out for saplings which are being pulled into the trail by the settling snow.
